Sexually violent predator moves into Colorado Springs neighborhood

The Colorado Springs Police Department has released a sexually violent predator notification for a neighborhood south of downtown.

Lee Filipiak, 58, is registered as living at an address near the intersection of Cheyenne Blvd. and S. Cascade Ave.

Police say Filipiak was convicted of sexual assault on a child in 2000 in Fremont County and indecent exposure in California in 1990.

There are 16 sexually violent predators registered in Colorado Springs.

Colorado law requires police to notify neighbors when a sexually violent predator moves to a new address.
