Pueblo County hopes new position can make money
Pueblo County is hoping a new position could make organizations and departments more money.
Commissioners discussed Thursday opening a grant writer position.
The county said it needs the position to make the grant process quicker for departments and organizations in the county.
“We don’t have a consolidated effort that goes after every single grant that becomes available and we believe we are losing out on some of the money,” Pueblo County Economic Development Director Chris Markuson said.
The writer would make between $3,393 to $5,441 a month.
Markuson said the writer could make millions of dollars for the county.
