Parkview Medical Center offers Drive Thru Flu Shot Clinic
Parkview Medical Center is hosting the 5th Annual Drive Thru Flu Clinic Thursday, October 8th. Parkview’s Mobile Nurses will be giving flu shots at the Parkview Pueblo West ED (899 E. Industrial Blvd.) between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m.
The vaccine will be available for those 3 years and older. It will cost $20, which can be paid by cash, check or credit card. Those applicable can use their Medicare part B to pay for the flu shot.
More than 40 companies ready to hire persons with disabilities
Individuals with disabilities, who are seeking employment, are invited to the Hire Abilities Job Fair. More than 40 companies and organizations have signed up for this job fair hosted by the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and the Pikes Peak Workforce Center (PPWFC). It is estimated that there are more than 250 open positions available to the job fair attendees.

WHEN: Thursday, October 8, 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. WHO: For all individuals with disabilities, civilian and military, seeking employment, 18 years or older. HOW: To attend, job seekers must have an account in the state job search database www.connectingcolorado.com. Job seekers who do not have an account will be able to set one up at the job fair.
Public invited to open house on Chestnut Street bridge replacement project
The public is invited to attend an open house on the Chestnut Street bridge replacement project over South Douglas Creek in Colorado Springs. The open house will take place on Thursday, October 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Springs Journey Church (1250 Vondelpark Dr.).
