Bernie Sanders to hold rally in Boulder

Boulder is gearing up for its first visit by a 2016 presidential candidate as Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders plans to hold a rally on the University of Colorado’s East Campus.

The Daily Camera reports that the Saturday event at Potts Field is free and open to the public.

The Vermont senator had initially passed last week on a chance to speak at the university, but the Sanders campaign’s plans for a rally in Boulder are back on.

Sanders, who is going against Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination for president, is expected to touch on several different topics at the rally, including income and wealth inequality, campaign finance reform and college affordability.

CU will also host the third Republican presidential debate Oct. 28 at the Coors Event Center.
