Colorado Springs native wins “genius award”
Colorado College and Air Academy High School graduate John Novembre is one of 24 people across the nation to receive a MacArthur Fellowship, known as the “genius award.”
Novembre is a Chicago-based computational biologist whose work sheds light on human evolutionary history, population structure and migration, and the etiology of genetic diseases.
The five-year grant, awarded to individuals who show exceptional creativity in their work with the prospect of more in the future, carries an unrestricted stipend of $625,000.
