“Brush Creek” Fire about 30% Contained

(10/04/15) A fire burning in the mountains west of Denver is about 30% contained.

According to KDVR, dozens of firefighters are on the ground and two helicopters are working on the fire.

Crews are projecting the fire will be fully contained around 7:00 pm Sunday night.

The fire was being driven by high winds this weekend.

It began Friday, and has burned about 229 acres.

No injuries or damage to structures have been reported.

The fire is on national forest land.

Firefighters involved include Breckenridge’s Red, White & Blue Fire, Copper Mountain Fire, Northwest Fire, Vail Fire and Kremmling Fire departments.
