Man facing charges for waving gun at playground

A Colorado Springs man is facing multiple charges after allegedly waving a gun in a playground Saturday afternoon.

Police arrested 22-year-old Garrick Terrell.

Springs police were called to the Whitney Young Manor Apartments around noon for reports of two men waving a gun.

They found out Terrell went into a nearby apartment.

When they knocked on the door, he tried put a woman and child in front of him, to block himself from officers.

Then they say he closed the door and tried to run to the back of the apartment.

Police caught him and found a gun on him.

Terrell now faces several charges including possession of a weapon by a previous offender, child endangerment, and an unrelated warrant for attempted robbery.
