Airborne car damages several homes
A car went airborne and damaged several homes in the 1600 block of Murray Boulevard, just north of Palmer Park Boulevard Saturday morning.
Colorado Springs police said the car crashed into the corner of a home, and continued to crash through a garage. The vehicle eventually ended up in the bedroom of a second home. Debris from the crash also damaged a third home.
“I was standing in the backyard and all I heard was a loud sound, like a jet engine, and then a loud boom,” said Javonte Nunn, who lives in a house that was struck. “I went around the corner of the house and I all I see is dust and debris everywhere.”
Police arrested 18-year-old Kvonte Love for DUI.
Witnesses said a passenger may have fled from the crash.
Neighbors said they are thankful no one inside the homes was injured.
“I’m just glad everyone is ok,” Nunn said. “It’s a lot of damage.”
