2 law enforcement vehicles damaged in Colorado Springs

2 drivers are in custody after a pair of collisions with police squad cars.

The first accident occurred at midnight on I-25 near South Academy Boulevard. The Colorado State Patrol says that a squad car was hit during a traffic stop. No injuries were reported at the scene. The driver was arrested on a DUI charge.

The second crash happened in the 3200 block of the Hancock Expressway just before 2 Saturday morning. During a domestic violence investigation, several Colorado Springs police vehicles were hit by a car driving in the east-bound lanes.

No officers were hurt.

The driver, 32-year-old Jason Pope, was arrested on reckless driving, DUI, texting while driving charges.
