La Junta mother wants her memorial that is dedicated to her late son returned

A La Junta mother says her son’s memorial was stolen and she wants to see it returned safely.

DeeLynn Lasater said she last saw the statue on April 19; on April 20, the statue was missing from her memorial garden.

The statue is dedicated to her son, who passed away when he was 15 years old.

The memorial is a white statue that has an angel with its head down on a pillar.

Lasater said when the memorial was taken, so was a piece of her.

“If feels like someone violated my soul by taking that. I searched for it forever, for the mourning angel,” she said.

If you have any information that will lead to finding the memorial, you are asked to call La Junta police at 719-384-2525.
