The snow made the evening drive difficult for drivers in southern Colorado
The snowy weather made it a challenge for drivers in southern Colorado Wednesday night.
Drivers throughout the area were faced with blowing snow and wet roads.
Ron Smith drove from Trinidad and he was on his way back home in Littleton. He said at some points on Interstate 25 it was almost impossible to see the road.
“Well that’s the problem, your wiper blades are going and everything, you can’t make out objects because there is so much snow coming. It’s difficult to navigate because you couldn’t see,” he said.
The Colorado Department of Transportation will have 20 plows out clearing the roads with crews working 12-hour shifts.
“We normally work eight-hour shifts five days a week. When the snow comes, we jump into our 12-hours shifts, 24 hours a day. It takes a toll, it takes people away from families and their normal routines,” CDOT Supervisor Chuck Decker said.
The City of Pueblo will also have eight plows on the streets with crews working 12-hour shifts.
