Federal government is giving Pueblo money for housing
The federal government is giving Pueblo money to make sure people have roofs over their heads.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is giving the city more than a million dollars in CDBG and HOME grants. Both grants are meant for affordable housing for people in need.
Anne Stattelman, director of POSADA, an organization that provides housing for people who are homeless, said that money can go toward continuing the organization’s mission.
“The money we receive from the city allows us to provide direct support to individuals and families, and we’re able to actually house 30 families a night through one of the programs through the city. We provide about 2,000 folk services a year through CDBG funds with the city,” she said.
The federal government is also giving Colorado Springs close to $4 million for housing.
