Football fans enjoy Super Bowl food
Super Sunday is not just about football, it’s also about food.
Restaurants and grocery stores prepared for an influx of hungry shoppers before the big game.
“This is by far our busiest day,” said Wild Wings ‘n Things ownerMike Morris. “We’ll do a week’s worth of business in one day.”
In order to beat the game day rush, many football fans placed their food orders early.
“We started getting orders as of Monday last week,” Morris said.
Some fans stocked up on party essentials at local grocery stores.
“My dad is hosting a party, mostly just family,”Melinda McConnaughey said. “I’m making buffalo chicken dip and some potato skins.”
For some families, food has become the common ground at Super Bowl parities.
“It’s just a social experience,” McConnaughey said. “It makes it a lot of fun to just laugh and talk and sometimes spend time in a relaxed atmosphere with people you don’t always get a chance to do that with.”
