Black Friday shoppers score door buster deals early
Black Friday shoppers started early Thursday on door buster deals at major retailers like Best Buy.
The English family spent 25 hours in line to score a ticket for a coveted discounted flat screen TV at Best Buy.
“I probably would never camp out again, me personally, but I am glad we got the TV like we wanted. It was really, really cold and I have never camped outside before and I don’t think I could handle it again,” said Madison English.
Madison English calls herself a “Black Friday Freak.” Her husband Shawn isn’t quite as keen on the unofficial shopping holiday.
“It was all her idea. I just followed along,” said Shawn.
Ten minutes before the doors opened, the couple came up with a plan. Madison English and her two children would pick up the TV while Shawn English tackled the Christmas list.
Shawn English weaved through crowds and makeshift barriers to find what he needed. He’s a Fort Carson soldier and hasn’t been able to experience Black Friday with his wife.
“This is crazy,” he said.
In the end, the couple walked out with a new printer, DVDs, headphones, a TV and a Bluetooth headset.
“It was worth it for the TV, but I would absolutely not do this again,” said Madison English.
“It was crazy. I won’t do it again. I’ll wait until cyber Monday,” said Shawn English.
The couple said the final thing on their check list for Thursday was Thanksgiving dinner. They planned to eat together when they got home.
