I-70 closes in the high country because of bad weather and crashes

Portions of I-70 were closed in both directions Monday afternoon as wintry weather made travel treacherous.

The interstate was fully closed near Vail and between Georgetown and the Eisenhower Tunnel during the afternoon.

As of 6:51 p.m. Monday, all lanes of I-70 are now open.
