Sheriff and incoming sheriff working on transition

Sheriff Terry Maketa now says he and incoming sheriff Bill Elder are working on dates to start the transition of power.

Elder contacted Maketa Wednesday morning about the matter.

The sheriff says he directed his staff to work with Elder on tours.

Maketa says he will also comply with specific information requests Elder made.

Now, the two are working on details of the transition.
