Man who took plea deal in red truck solicitation cases sentenced to sex offender intensive probation

A man who was arrested in a string of solicitation cases targeting young women and girls has been sentenced after agreeing to a plea deal.

Duston Ridner pleaded guilty to one count of criminal attempt to commit obscenity on August 8, 2014.

On October 30, 2014, Ridner was sentenced to 10 years sex offender intensive probation. A judge also ordered that Ridner is not to have contact with anyone under the age of 18, including his own children. He faces 18 months in prison if he violates that stipulation.

The Fourth Judicial District Attorney’s Office said Ridner admitted to proposing to expose himself to eight girls and seven women.

Ridner was a Special Forces Medical Sergeant assigned to the 10th Special Forces Group at Fort Carson at the time of his arrest. He had served for more than 12 years and received multiple awards.

Ridner was arrested on May 22, 2014. Investigators said he was the driver of a red truck who was accused of approaching more than a dozen women and girls. The investigation started on April 28th when someone in a red truck approached a victim and offered her $100 to watch him perform a lewd act.
