Summer marks busiest time for Pueblo County pot sales
Marijuana sales have been the highest during the summer months, according to numbers released by the Pueblo County clerk.
Marijuana stores sold more than $1.7 million worth of pot in August, making it the second busiest month for sales. So far, July has been the best month, when sales exceeded $2 million.
Pueblo County expects to collect nearly $60,000 from marijuana based on August sales. That number is strictly from a 3.5 percent sales tax levied on marijuana.
More than $10 million of marijuana has been sold in Pueblo County since recreational marijuana sales began in January.
