Hickenlooper wants 4 drilling proposals dropped
Gov. John Hickenlooper is asking for four proposals related to oil and gas drilling to be dropped from November’s ballot.
Hickenlooper was joined by congressman Jared Polis when he issued the call on Monday. Polis backs two of the measures seeking limits on drilling but it wasn’t immediately clear whether the backers of the two measures sympathetic to the industry supported the idea.
Hickenlooper also announced his intention to create a task force that will issue recommendations to Legislature aimed at minimizing land-use conflicts. The 18-member task-force will include oil and gas industry, ag industry, local governments, and civil leaders.
