Colorado probation officer facing drug charges

Authorities say a Colorado probation officer is facing felony drug charges in Nebraska.

Keith County Attorney Randy Fair says Shauna Sanders, a 15-year veteran and currently a supervisor, has been charged with possession of ecstasy and possession with intent to deliver cocaine and crack.

Fair says Sanders was among five people arrested after officers patrolling Lake McConaughy in western Nebraska noticed open glass containers of alcohol. They also discovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia near their camper.

Fair says a further search and investigation led to the felony charges.

State court spokesman Rob McCallum says Sanders, who works in Adams County, is off duty using her paid vacation time pending the investigation. She has been a supervisor since 2011.
