UPDATE: Persons of interest in Pueblo homicide arrested

Pueblo Police say two people who they have identified as persons of interest in a homicide have been arrested.

Kasai Ciofassa, 23, and Donna Tortessi, 32, were arrested in Denver on Tuesday, June 24, 2014.

Ciofassa is now considered a suspect in the killing.

Police say an SUV that was stolen from the victim’s home has been recovered.

Officers were called to the home in the 3200 block of Westview Drive just before 10 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2014. The person who called for help said there was smoke coming from the home and the sound of an alarm could be heard.

Police say the body of Elizabeth Johnson-Miranda, 42, was found inside the home. Her death has been ruled a homicide.

Ciofassa is facing felony murder charges.

Ciofassa and Tortessi are both facing a burglary charge that isn’t related to the Johnson-Miranda case.

Ciofassa also faces an unrelated charge of motor vehicle theft.
