4 colleges from Colorado on sex violence, harassment list

The Boulder and Denver campuses of the University of Colorado, the University of Denver and Regis University are on the list of 55 institutions with open sexual violence or harassment cases being investigated by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office.

The department’s assistant secretary for civil rights said in a statement that the list was released Thursday in part to spur discussion of the issue. She adds appearance on the list is no indication that an institution has broken the law.

Only Massachusetts, with six, had more institutions on the list, but several other states also had four. Spokesmen for UC Boulder, the University of Denver and Regis University say they are cooperating with the investigations, each involving one incident. UC-Denver did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
