Burglar targets Falcon fast food restaurants, grocery store gas station
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says it believes the same person or people are responsible for a crime spree targeting businesses in Falcon.
The crimes happened in the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 12, 2014.
At 3:28 a.m., deputies responded to an alarm at the Sonic Drive In at 7610 Midnight Road and discovered the front window of the business was smashed. A large safe filled with money was taken.
While searching the area, deputies discovered the drive-up window at Wendy’s, 7525 McLaughlin Road, was broken. Nothing was taken.
As the investigation continued, deputies determined that someone tried to break into the shoppette next to the gas station at the Safeway at 7655 McLaughlin Road.
Surveillance video from the gas station showed a man who was wearing a black or blue jacket with light colored sleeves trying to break in. He was driving a dark colored Ford extended cab truck with a tool box in the bed.
Investigators believe all three crimes are related.
