4 pounds of meth found hidden in truck’s engine
The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office says a routine traffic stop turned into a big meth bust thanks to its drug sniffing dogs.
The traffic stop happened on February 7, 2014. Investigators say the pickup was towed to the Pueblo West field office for a thorough search after the dogs alerted them to the presence of drugs.
The sheriff’s office says that on February 11, 2014, members of the DEA/Southern Colorado Drug Task Force searched the truck and found approximately four pounds of methamphetamine in a hidden compartment above the truck’s engine. Investigators say the drugs have a street value of just over $100,000.
The sheriff’s office says the drug task force has been investigating an unknown number of suspects linked to the truck, but it’s unclear whether any arrests have been made.
