Tea Party group endorses Owen Hill in GOP primary

A national tea party organization is endorsing Owen Hill in the crowded Republican primary to challenge Democratic Sen. Mark Udall.

Tea Party Express Monday announced it was backing Hill over frontrunner Ken Buck. The tea party group backed Buck in 2010 when he barely lost a race against Sen. Michael Bennet. But Amy Kramer of Tea Party Express says the group picked Hill this time because it thinks he can win statewide.

Hill is a 31-year-old State Senator. Also in the race for the Republican nomination are State Rep. Amy Stephens, State Sen. Randy Baumgardner and businessman Jaime McMillan.
