Larimer County judge resigns following censure
A Larimer County judge has resigned after being censured by the Colorado Supreme Court for alleged inappropriate or unethical conduct.
But Judge Robert Rand told the Fort Collins Coloradoan that most, if not all, of the allegations were misunderstandings.
Rand, who was suspended with pay July 3, told the newspaper he resigned to end an investigation into his actions. He also avoids a trial before a special judge.
The Coloradoan reported that many of the allegations concerned what court officials said were inappropriate comments Rand made to female attorneys and court workers.
Rand said he plans to move to California to be closer to family.
