Aurora officer injured, suspect in custody
Police say an officer was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries he suffered during an incident near Aurora’s City Center.
Officers were called to the intersection of Interstate 225 and East Alameda Avenue just after noon Friday, and a suspect has been taken into custody.
The Aurora Sentinel reports the suspect was shot in the leg, and officer Jason Pray was hit by a car and taken to a nearby hospital. Authorities have released few details about the shooting, which forced the closure of some roads in the area.
Aurora police did not immediately respond to a message left by the Associated Press.
