Student claims teacher assaulted him

A 13-year-old claims he was choked and head-butted by a teacher during physical education on Tuesday.

Dillon Reaper said the whole thing was traumatic.

“He grabbed me by the throat and started dragging me backwards; I couldn’t breathe, I almost passed out,” Reaper said.

He says the teacher attacked him, and then called his mother to explain what happened.

“He told me he harmed my child, and he just said I shouldn’t have done it, but I did it, he didn’t apologize,” Jennifer Reaper said.

But it got worse when she arrived to the school.

“I was a little upset because they didn’t have a nurse to check him before I showed up,” the mother said.

And then she couldn’t believe what happened

“(The school) never pulled him away from the class and away from the other students,” Jennifer Reaper said.

We tried contacting the Harrison School District, but officials chose not to go on camera because they were celebrating the opening of their new administration building, but they did confirm the teacher is on administrative leave and the investigation is being handled by Colorado Springs Police Department.

We are not naming the teacher because charges have not been filed, but Dillon has advice for students.

“When a teacher puts their hands on you and you haven’t said anything, say something,” he said.

We spoke to the teacher in question and the teacher is choosing not to comment at this time.
