Preliminary hearing set for woman accused of killing son, age 5
A Colorado Springs mom who is accused of drowning her son went before a judge Thursday morning.
According to court documents, Shannon Dodson, 42, admitted to killing 5-year-old Jude Murray-Gomez. According to the affidavit, Dodson told detectives that she didn’t know why she did it.
Dodson, who faces a charge of first degree murder, will return to court on January 31, 2014 for a preliminary hearing.
KRDO NewsChannel 13’s Rana Novini was in the courtroom for Dodson’s appearance on Thursday, November 21, 2013. She says Jude’s aunt and grandmother were in the courtroom, but did not make any comments.
