Feds cracking down on Denver area dispensaries

Federal and local authorities are conducting an enforcement action against marijuana dispensaries in the Denver area.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says they’re executing search and seizure warrants but won’t say how many businesses are involved or what they’re being investigated for. The warrants have been sealed.

However, a statement from the office’s spokesman says the Internal Revenue Service criminal investigations unit is involved in the action along with the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Jeff Dorschner also says that the operation is in accordance with the U.S. Justice Department’s recent guidance on marijuana enforcement.
