Ethics complaint pending against Gov. Hickenlooper
The state Independent Ethics Commission has voted to proceed with an ethics complaint filed against Gov. John Hickenlooper.
The vote on Monday is a step that calls for further review, but it is not an indication a violation occurred.
According to the Denver Post, the conservative political group Compass Colorado claims Hickenlooper violated the Colorado gift-ban provision by allowing the Democratic Governors Association to pick up costs for a conference this summer in Aspen.
The governor’s office says exemptions allowed the association to cover costs for Hickenlooper, who was host for the July event and a speaker at the conference.
