Teen faces attempted murder charges after shots fired in Pueblo

Police say a teenager is facing four counts of attempted first degree murder after allegedly firing a gun at a group of people.

The investigation began at around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday (11/12/13) when police received a report of someone shooting a gun during an incident that involved a bicycle and a Jeep.

Officers went to check it out and found a Jeep that had crashed through a picket fence outside of of a home at the intersection of Arroyo Avenue and Carteret Avenue.

Three people were detained. A fourth ran from police.

Officers found the fourth person, a teenage boy, hiding in a home in the 1000 block of Berkley. They said he was injured but did not provide specifics.

Police say the teenager was the person who was riding the bicycle and that he got into a fight with the people in the jeep and one of their mothers. The teen is accused of firing one shot during that fight before pedaling off. Police say three men jumped into the jeep and chased the teen before crashing it into the fence.

In addition to the attempted murder charges, the teen is facing charges for underage possession of a gun. Police say he also had three city warrants and one county warrant for truancy.

The teen was taken to Pueblo Youth Corrections.
