Three teens thrown from Camaro during rollover
The Colorado State Patrol says drugs and alcohol may be factors in a rollover crash near La Junta.
The accident happened at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Colorado Highway 109 about 5 miles south of La Junta.
There were three people in the car. The driver has been identified as Jacob Love, age 18. The names of his passengers, ages 14 and 19, have not been released.
Troopers say the Camaro Love was driving was northbound on the highway when it went off the side of the road. Love over-corrected, causing the car to roll. All three teenagers were thrown from the car during the crash.
Love and a 19-year-old female passenger were flown to hospitals in Pueblo and Denver for treatment of serious injuries.
The 14-year-old male passenger was treated at the hospital in La Junta. He was then arrested on an unrelated warrant.
Troopers say no one in the car was wearing a seat belt. Drugs and alcohol are considered possible factors in the crash.
No charges have been filed pending the outcome of the investigation.
