Radar set up to warn of Rio Grande flooding

A special radar system is being used to warn of Rio Grande flooding in the wake of recent wildfires.

The radar is being used for weather and rainfall predictions across the burn areas associated with the West Fork Complex Fire.

According to the Alamosa Valley Courier , the portable radar is being used to track potentially flash flood storms headed toward the Rio Grande National Forest to give people time to avoid high water and falling debris.
