All twelve soldiers injured by lightning out of the hospital
A dozen soldiers hit by lightning on post Wednesday will spend the weekend recovering at home.
The strike happened around 2:45 p.m. south of Butts Army Airfield.
Two of the injured soldiers were taken to Memorial Hospital. One by air. Ten others were taken to Evans Army Community Hospital by ambulance.
The two most seriously injured soldiers were released from Memorial Hospital on Friday. The other ten were allowed to go home earlier in the week.
Fort Carson says the Soldiers were conducting training when they were notified of lightning in the area.
Training was suspended and the soldiers were in the process of moving to shelter when the bolt of lightning struck them.
