Pueblo Police warn of phone scam

The Pueblo Police Department is warning citizens that there is a phone scam circulating the area.

Victims of the phone scam have reported that the caller, who has been described as a man with a Middle Eastern accent, states that he has a warrant for the victim and that the victim will face jail time if they do not pay a fine.

Police say the caller can sound threatening and forceful about getting payment.

The Pueblo Police Department is reminding citizens that law enforcement agencies will not ask for payments over the phone. Usually, individuals with warrants must report to the agency issuing the warrant to clear it up in person.
