Man gets 42 years for fatal shooting in Pueblo
A man tied to a deadly shooting at a Pueblo park is sentenced to 42 years in prison.
Our partners at the Pueblo Chieftain report that Devin Downey was sentenced for his role in the death of Pedro Solis-Astorga, 45.
Solis-Astorga was found dead near Fountain Creek in February 2011.
Downey, 21, struck a deal with prosecutors. He pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
Police said Downey was smoking marijuana in the park when Solis-Astorga approached him. Investigators also suggested Downey shot the man because he wanted to avoid the disclosure of his sexual activities in the park.
