Sentate To Vote On Incline Bill

A bill proposed by Congressman Doug Lamborn and supported by Senator Michael Bennet regarding the Manitou Springs Incline was set to be voted on Friday morning, but that vote was pushed back to next week.

Despite this delay, the bill is expected to pass, and it would streamline the process of making the Incline legal to hike.

Several hikers, Friday afternoon, say that even if the vote passes, they hope the “spirit” and “rugged” nature of the incline will be kept alive.

There are multiple rules that have been placed along the Incline, like not hiking in the dark and no bringing dogs up, but no one is currently enforcing them. It is unclear if there would be patrols enforcing the new rules, if the bill is passed.
