Death of man found in creek ruled homicide

The death of a man found in a creek near Interstate 25 and Cimarron Street on Monday morning has been ruled a homicide.

After conducting an autopsy, the Coroner said on Tuesday that the man was stabbed to death. He has been identified as 48-year-old Timothy Jordan.

Police said that an anonymous person reported finding the body on Monday morning. CSPD and the Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) responded to the scene.

Police tell KRDO NewsChannel 13 that Jordan was considered a transient.

Officers spent most of the day Monday investigating the scene and gathering evidence.
