Colorado theater shooting “mini-trial” ends
A hearing laying out the evidence against the accused gunman in the Colorado theater shooting is over.
Prosecutors finished presenting their case against James Holmes on Wednesday. The judge said he will rule by Friday on whether Holmes should go on trial.
If the judge decides Holmes will be tried, Holmes could enter a plea at a hearing scheduled that day.
Defense attorneys decided not call any witnesses, saying they were constrained by the rules of the preliminary hearing. They had been granted permission to call two people to talk about Holmes’ mental state.
