Fire contained near Lake Minnequa

The Pueblo fire department has contained a fire burning near Lake Minnequa.

Pueblo Fire department officials said the grass fire sparked at about 2 p.m. Saturday between Pueblo Boulevard and LakeMinnequa.

Officials said the fire burned mostly grass and a few trees. The fire burned about 70 acres, and was contained around 5 p.m.

Pueblo fire officials said no structures were threatened, although they did send out phone calls to warn neighbors that a fire was burning in the area.

Smoke could been scene throughout the city of Pueblo, causing several people to stop and watch as fire fighters battled the blaze.

Officials said no buildings burned and no injuries were reported.
