Fort Carson leaders unveil 4th Infantry Division Monument
Fort Carson leaders unveiled the 4th Infantry Division Monument at Manhart Field Friday morning.
The monument is meant to honor soldiers who have served with the Iron Horse Brigade and remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
The 4th Infantry Division celebrated its 95th year of service on Dec. 10.
Fort Carson leaders broke ground on the monument on July 26.
The project was funded by donations from Balfour Beatty Communities and their subcontractors.
Fort Carson commander Maj. Gen. Joe Anderson said the monument provides a place for soldiers and families to reflect and remember everyday, rather than just on special holidays.
