D11 works to reshape district, needs community help
School District 11 prepares to present some considerations developed by its Optimization of Utilization Study, and it will do that through a series of meetings starting this week.
The study looks at 12 different ways the largest school district in Colorado Springs could be made more efficient. Some of the considerations include closing schools, but district officials are quick to say none of the considerations are recommendations yet.
Superintendent Dr. Nick Gledich said the district will take input from parents and the community before deciding which of the considerations will become recommendations.
Final recommendations will be made to the school board in January.
The first of the community meetings will be from 6-8 p.m. at Doherty High School on Dec. 5. For a more complete schedule, check under links we mentioned.
