Video to silence the child abuse violence
A four year old Colorado Springs girl’s story to overcome horrific odds is an eyeopener. We got a preview on Wednesday of a seven minute video entitled, “Kyndra’s Hope”.
This little girl is blind, but surviving after being viciously abused by her parents who are now in prison. She was a baby when the abuse happened. Kyndra wasn’t given much hope of surviving after the attack. However, this little girl is a fighter. I don’t want to give much of the video away, but it’s riveting.
I asked the parents of a 15 month old girl to watch it and get their reaction. Rodney and Sachiyo Little viewed the documentary. Rodney told me, “I think it’s very powerful because it’s a real world experience. As a parent, it kind of helps you to see how we want to do allwe can for our children and give them they love they need.”
Sachiyo Little reacted to the video with this statement, “The fact there is this the Hope and Home organization to put the video out there and make it for the public awareness, it will help people think about issues and make more people aware of this thing.”
Hope and Home Executive Director, Ross Wright told me this video is also a way to reinforce another point, “You can make it. You can survive through prayer, love and support. Even children who’ve been horribly battered can still survive and have a wonderful life.”
“Kyndra’s Hope” is part of the Not One More Child Coalition in El Paso County to stop the number of children who die as a result of abuse or neglect.
You can be at the free premiere of the seven minute video on Friday, September 28th starting at 6:10 in the evening in Colorado Springs. You have to RSVP by email at info@hopeandhome.org or call Hope and Home at 719-575-9887.
