Greeley teen charged in brother’s shooting death
An 18-year-old Greeley man accused in the shooting death of his 11-year-old brother has been charged with criminally negligent homicide.
Prosecutors charged Jordan Limas on Tuesday.
According to police and court records, Jordan Limas told sheriff’s deputies that his little brother Andre found a loaded gun he had left on a dining room table Sept. 14 and was trying to take the gun outside to show other children. He says he and his younger brother struggled over the gun when it went off, fatally shooting the boy.
Limas allegedly told police he had stolen the gun about a month beforehand.
Limas is free after posting a $30,000 bond. A court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 25.
