Latino voter push heads to Colorado
Latino voting advocates are hoping for a post-convention bounce in Colorado as they plan two voter registration drives.
Todos A Votar, or “Let’s Vote,” aims for a record 12 million Latinos to vote on Nov. 6. The group plans to join a union executive from the SEIU for voter drives in Pueblo and Denver Friday.
Nationwide, Hispanics made up 13 percent of the 2008 electorate in the presidential election, compared with 8 percent in 2004.
In battleground Colorado, the campaigns of both President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney have launched outreach efforts seeking the Latino vote.
