Sandbags still available for Waldo flood prevention
The City of Colorado Springs Office of Emergency Management, in partnership with Colorado Springs Together, has approximately 500 sandbags still available for homeowners that could be impacted by potential flooding after the Waldo Canyon Fire.
Sandbags are available for pick up by residents at the Verizon Wireless building (2424 Garden of the Gods Road) at any time during the next three weeks, or until they are gone. Enter the Verizon Wireless north parking lot off of Flying W Ranch Road.
Residents are advised to consult a certified erosion and sediment control consultant or contractor to manage flooding mitigation on their private property. Sandbags should not be placed in the public right-of-way.
