Arrest After Springs Car Break-In

A 17-year-old is detained for Criminal Trespass after a car is broken into in northwest Colorado Springs.

Police say it happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of Fox Run Circle.

An officer was patrolling the area of North Gate Road and Voyager Parkway because of recent burglaries.

Officer Hughes saw two males walking around, and stopped them.

During the initial investigation one of them ran from the scene and the other was detained.

During follow-up, officers discovered a vehicle had been broken into and items had been stolen.

Officers established probable cause to arrest the 17-year-old for First Degree Criminal Trespass among other charges including a felony warrant.

Officers also located and recovered a stolen motor vehicle in the area.
