Hwy 50 Reopened After Gas Leak In La Junta
A vehicle hit a gas meter in La Junta, causing 15 home evacuations and a partial closure of Hwy 50 on Wednesday afternoon.
Eastbound lanes of Hwy 50 and the frontage road were closed for about an hour at Bent Ave. on the west side of town.
The gas company repaired the pipe and are now working to replace the gas meter. Residents were able to go back to their homes and the highway reopened around 4:00 p.m.
