Teen Rape Victim Jailed To Ensure She Testifies

A California teen has been behind bars for a week, and will stay there for another 10 days, to make sure she makes it to court for her alleged rapist’s trial.

Prosecutors say drastic measures are necessary to ensure that the teen shows up in court. She was allegedly raped by Frank Rackley. He’s accused of raping a prostitute as well. They say she’s already missed two hearings and several meetings with the district attorney. They fear without the teen in court Frank Rackley may be freed to commit another crime.

On Friday a judge ruled the victim will have to stay in jail at least until April 16th, the date of her next hearing.
